Benefits of Dog Harnesses
Until recently, many dog owners have been using the traditional collar and lead to walk their dog. However, more and more pet parents are now turning to dog harnesses instead. From the appearance, harnesses can just appear to be a snazzy accessory. However, there is actually more to them than just appearance. Here are some fabulous benefits to investing in a harness for your four-legged friend.
Increased Visibility
We understand that many dog owners are forever concerned about losing their best friend while out on a walk. Sadly, this anxiety is heightened during the autumn and winter months when the evening begins to draw darker much earlier. Harnesses can come in a selection of bright colors, meaning the dog can never again stray out of your sight.

Less strain on the neck
Traditional leads can course long-term damage to a dog's health. This occurs when they pull on the lead and strain their neck. Over the years, this can cause damage to the dog’s mussels and bone, leading to discomfort in later life.

Increased Control
It’s far easier to control the direction of your dog when they are being walked via a harness rather than on a lead. One a lead, a dog can feel like they are seizing control because the collar moves when they pull forward. However, this trick won’t work when they are attached to a harness. This will ultimately discourage pulling because the canine won’t feel like it is giving them any sort of advantage.

Perfect for the car
In late 2018 it became against the law to travel with a pet that isn’t secure within the vehicle. If your dog sits in the back sits or in the boot of your car, they still need to be secure into place. We recommend using a seatbelt adaptor that simply locks into a normal set belt holder, and then clips easily onto the back of your dog's harness. Your dog will always be secure on journeys and you have the peace of mind your pet is safe if the worst were to happen.

A lot less tangling
Whether a dog is big or small, they are more likely going to get tangled in their leads at one point or another. It perhaps happens more when they are younger and learning how to walk on a lead, but it isn't uncommon for an older dog to become tangled when they get a little over-excited. Luckily harnesses are designed so that it’s harder for the dog to become wrapped up during its walk.
