The Wonder of WWF
Of the thousands of charities across the globe aiming to support the health and wellbeing of animals, there really is no organisation quite like WWF. Dedicated to supporting animals, habitats and ecosystems around the planet, this really is one charity we cannot help but bark about. In fact, we decided to adopt an animal through WWF for each member of our team last Christmas so they can see what their donation is doing to help the animals of the world!
Here at Natural Cornish Pet Shop, we understand that animal welfare is more than just caring for those pet friends close to home. With over 8 million species of animals upon this very earth, we all need to do what we can to help all creatures great and small. Experts in conservation, research and animal rights, the WWF has helped support millions of animals across the globe and without them, our planet really wouldn’t be the same.
Their Wonderful Work
The work of WWF is more than what many might think. The WWF helps run projects from the depths of the Amazonian Rainforest to the English countryside, supporting sustainability in the natural environment and making sure that as many animals and habitats as possible are cared for in the best possible way.
The organisation also works with businesses across the world to ensure their companies are working in the most sustainable way to ensure there is less economic and environmental impact on the planet too. Raising awareness of sustainable processes in farming and fishing is one of the latest projects by WWF and ensures fisheries like those in Britain and Europe are using less harmful methods to fish and boats are using the correct methods when working in the ocean.
From supporting conservation to protecting endangered species, the work of the WWF is endless and in their 50 years they have changed the world as we know it. Their dedication to support the preservation of the Amazon, their work on creating certified palm oil and even bringing back the black African rhino from the edge of extinction are some of the few ways the WWF are trying to help keep our planet in the best shape it can be.
What you can do
You don’t have to be a scientific expert to join in on the work of the WWF and help make a difference to the world around you. From the comfort of your own living room, you can make a change today to help make the world a better place and ensure that our planet lives on long after we do.
One of the most effective ways in which you can help the work of the WWF is by making a donation. Each and every single donation, no matter how small, goes towards supporting the incredible work done by the WWF volunteers around the planet. From turtle rescue work in the Galapagos to Poaching Protecting in the African Savannah, the WWF organisation works relentlessly to ensure animals are protected across the globe and live the longest and happiest of lives.
Adopt an Animal
Adopting an animal is one of the most fabulous and interactive ways you can support WWF. We love this method so much we decided to adopt an animal for each member of our team last Christmas so they can see what their donation is doing to help the animals of the world. With the likes of Arctic Polar Bears and Himalayan Snow Leopards needing our help to survive the devastating effects of climate change and human destruction on their habitats, a small adoption (by yourself or as a gift) helps support the work of WWF in saving these animals.
With every adoption pack, you will receive a cute cuddly toy, a personalised adoption certificate of your chosen animal, regular updates on their work around the world and a wonderful welcome pack describing all the details of your adoption. This really makes a difference to animals across the world and can give you the feeling that you're doing your bit to help change the planet, one small step at a time.
From coastal hikes to marathons, there are many ways in which you can join in with the world to help raise awareness and money for the WWF. If a 26 mile run isn’t up your street, perhaps a sponsored dog walk or charity night with your friends and family might seem like a more accessible option. The possibilities are endless when it comes to amazing activities you can do to raise money for such a vital and fantastic cause.
Just a simple chat with their fundraising team and you can be given all the information you need to help set up an event to get people talking about what they can do to help make this world a better place for everyone and everything that lives on it.
