Our Top 5 Dog Walks In and Around Hayle

As dog owners, we know how important it is to find the perfect place for our furry friends to stretch their legs and explore. Here at The Pets Larder, we are lucky enough to live in one of the most scenic places in the Southwest and we've had the pleasure of scouring Hayle and its surroundings with our canine companions for years and are thus perfectly placed to bring you our top five dog walks in this outstanding area of natural beauty.

So, grab your leads, pack up your poo bags and let's get walking!

Hayle Towans Beach

Hayle Towans Beach is a beautiful spot for dog walking all year round. With miles of golden sand and rolling dunes, it's the perfect place for your pooch to run free. During the summer months, dogs are restricted to certain areas, so it's worth checking before you go. But even in the height of summer, there's plenty of space for everyone.

Hayle Towans Beach and Cliffs

One of the best things about Hayle Towans is the abundance of wildlife. From an abundance of superb seabirds to huge seal colonies, there's always something to catch your attention when out wandering this beautiful area of coastline. And if your furry friend loves a swim, the clear waters and sandy beach at Towans are perfect for a quick dip.

Tehidy Country Park

Tehidy Country Park is a stunning woodland park with over 250 acres of land to explore. There are a myriad of magical trails to choose from, ranging from easy strolls to more challenging hikes. But whichever trail you choose, you'll be surrounded by beautiful scenery and a plethora of wildlife.

The park is home to a variety of wildlife, including deer, badgers, and foxes. And if your dog loves to swim, there's even a lake where they can take a dip. Just be sure to keep an eye on your furry friend, as there are often ducks and other water birds swimming around.

St Ives Head

St Ives Head is a stunning headland that offers panoramic views of the Cornish coastline. The walk to the headland can be steep in places, but it's well worth the effort. Once you reach the top, you'll be rewarded with breathtaking views that stretch for miles.

St. Ives Head

The headland is also home to a variety of wildlife, including seals and seabirds. And if you're lucky, you might even spot a pod of dolphins playing in the waves below. Just be sure to keep your dog on a lead, as the cliffs can be steep and potentially dangerous.

Godrevy Point

Godrevy Point is a stunning stretch of coastline that's perfect for a dog walk. The walk to the point can be steep in places, but the views are well worth the effort. From the top, you can see across St Ives Bay, with views of Godrevy Island and the lighthouse. A simply stunning stretch of the coast path that is not to be missed.

Gwithian Beach

Walking your dog on Gwithian Beach can be an incredibly enjoyable experience for both you and your furry friends. Gwithian Beach is a beautiful beach just a short drive from Hayle Town Centre with miles of stunning golden sand and clear blue water. It is also a dog-friendly beach all year round, so you can take your dog with you and let them run, play and enjoy the fresh sea air any time of year.

Gwithian Beach

Dog walking on Gwithian Beach provides the perfect opportunity for your dog to socialise with other dogs and get plenty of exercise due to the vast expanses of sand and dunes and a plethora of other dog walkers. You may even spot some of the local wildlife like dolphins, seals and seabirds. There is also a superb cafe called Godrevy Cafe that is a perfect place for a pit stop when walking with your dogs at either Gwithian or Godrevy Point.

Hayle and its surrounding areas offer some of the most stunning dog walks in Cornwall, if we do say so ourselves! Whether you're looking for a gentle stroll or a challenging hike, there's something for everyone. So, grab your leads and head out for an adventure with your furry friend whether you’re local to the area or just visiting. And don't forget to stock up on our range of natural dog treats and biodegradable poo bags, at our home in Hayle, to keep your dog and the local environment happy and well looked after on, and after, your walk!!
